** HOT DATE has changed the naming convention and folder location for your custom Pajama and swimsuit skins, and  Vacation added the W prefix to allow for the "Winter" clothes, Superstars adds the H prefix for "Hollywoods" texures (clothes). These new textures are placed in the "skinsbuy" folder, alone with the "swimsuits" "pajamas" for now and the near galactical future - all the correct information I have on the Hot Date texture naming skinny is -
that the children's pajama's DO work properly - IF you have Vacation [then you just purchase the formal cloths, pajamas, and swimsuits while your sim family is on a hot date downtown and the Winter cloths while on vacation] you can purchase the Hollywood clothes in Studio town. This has made changing the textures much easier, than the pre- Hot date add-on's. If you are still curious, please follow these guidelines to gleen whatever, using the buttons below: [great texture and mesh information, and for making custom clothes. Info covers the orig Sim's and (LL, HP) add-ons up to and including Hot Date]
This info makes it easier to then work with the Hollywood, and Winter meshes and textures.

So
** follow these guidelines below: [most likely for Sim add-ons up to and including Makin' Magic]

these files are located in the ..\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\Skins folder. and LEAVE these Childrens files here {don't move 'em}.

basically:

    ** exactly why a ucchd works with the mlgt is much less obvious than the fcchdlgt working with the Flgt- let me tell you ! 8^)
    - however; the custom name still seems to apply correctly, and most importantly these texture pairs work {clothes/pajamas}.

    It would seem that the L and S type textures located in the ..\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\ExpansionPack3\SkinsBuy and / or ..\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\ExpansionShared\SkinsBuy folder(s) are the new default files for any custom swimsuit or pajama not correctly named in the ..\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\Skins folder.

    quick and easy method to get your custom swimsuits and pajama's into Hot Date.

    * once you acomplish this feat!  {find about an hour or two of free time and sit down in front of your PC}

    you are going to change *all* your pajamas and swimsuits to a file name that the Hot Date downtown clothes rack recognizes.

    Then you are going to take your Sim(ette) downtown and purchase their pajama's and swimsuits back !

    I've simplified the process, and tried to make it a no-brainer.

    examples:

    ..\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\Skins

    L100FAFitlgt_PajamaFLgt_racenet01rk.bmp - becomes ->    L100FAFitlgt_racenet01rk.bmp

    Pajamafmed_flowermini.bmp - becomes ->     L100FAFitlgt_racenet01rk.bmp

    pajamafmed_flowermini.cmx - becomes ->     L100FAFit_flowermini.cmx

    1.) I pasted L100FAFIT_ to every Pajama file I had in the skins folder.

    PajamaFLgt_racenet01rk.bmp - became -> L100FAFitlgt_PajamaFLgt_racenet01rk.bmp

    2.) then I simply deleted the old Pajama part  - L100FAFitlgt_racenet01rk.bmp

    3.) notice that I do insure the lgt, drk, and med are the same ( just edit the L100 part)

    4.) with the cmx file I (pasted - deleted) and removed the lgt, med, drk to follow convention.

    pajamafmed_flowermini.cmx - became ->     L100FAFit_flowermini.cmx fit can be fat, skn

    5.) not every file file has a cmx (we're running out of fun time here) so I rely on this file to be the default

    L100FAFit_original.cmx

    ---

    more examples:

    ----------------------------------

    UFFitmed_racenet01rk.bmp - became ->

    S100FAFitmed_UFFitmed_racenet01rk.bmp - which became ->

    S100FAFitmed_racenet01rk.bmp

    ----------------------------------

    UFFitmed_lguard.bmp - became ->

    S100FAFitmed_UFFitmed_lguard.bmp - which became ->

    S100FAFitmed_lguard.bmp

    ---------------------------------

    now that you've renamed (move these s100's and L100's to the ..\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\ExpansionPack3\SkinsBuy and / or ..\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\ExpansionShared\SkinsBuy

    ** the Sim File Cop program that checks the skins folder most likely doesn't check for bad files in the skinsbuy folder. drat!

    however; if you made these files like this and moved them from your previously working LL/HP skins folder, you should have no prob.

    ** more note:  do not cancel the shopping - buy process - that will lockup or crash your game !

    this is not a result of this moving the pajama's and swimsuits in to the skinsbuy.  I've noticed you can not cancel an AI animation without dire results in the downtown area.

    enjoy..

    i guess Our post is trying to explain how to really make the children's

    pajama's work as the following do NOT work as defaults for the children:

    Child Pajamas defaults do not work:
    PJsFLgt_01.bmp
    PJsFMed_01.bmp
    PJsFDrk_01.bmp
    PJsMLgt_01.bmp
    PJsMMed_01.bmp
    PJsMDrk_01.bmp
    ================

    what works for the children IS:

    Adult Pajamas
    PajamaFLgt_01.bmp
    PajamaFMed_01.bmp
    PajamaFDrk_01.bmp
    PajamaMLgt_01.bmp
    PajamaMMed_01.bmp
    PajamaMDrk_01.bmp
    ==================
    so you end up with the child wearing the same pajama's as the adults by default.
    ==================
    and the solution is...... you just have to use:

    Custom Pajamas
    PajamaFLgt_customnamehere.bmp
    PajamaFMed_customnamehere.bmp
    PajamaFDrk_customnamehere.bmp
    PajamaMLgt_customnamehere.bmp
    PajamaMMed_customnamehere.bmp
    PajamaMDrk_customnamehere.bmp

    the above are the conventions for the children’s pajama's also.
    ===============================

    These are the default textures for Pajamas:

    PajamaFFit_01: Fit Female Pajamas
    PajamaFSkn_01: Skinny Female Pajamas
    PajamaFFat_01: Fat Female Pajamas

    PajamaMFit_01: Fit Male Pajamas
    PajamaMSkn_01: Skinny Male Pajamas
    PajamaMFat_01: Fat Male Pajamas

    PajamaFLgt_01: for Light-skinned Female Pajamas (all weight classes)
    PajamaFMed_01: for Medium-skinned Female Pajamas
    PajamaFDrk_01: for Dark-skinned Female Pajamas

    PajamaMLgt_01: For Light-skinned Male Pajamas
    PajamaMMed_01: For Medium-skinned Male Pajamas
    PajamaMDrk_01: For Dark-skinned Male Pajamas

    **   remember  that children wear the same pajamas as adults.

    These are the default textures for Swimsuits:
    UFFitLgt_01: Fit Light Female Swimsuit
    UFSknLgt_01: Skinny Light Female Swimsuit
    UFFatLgt_01: Fat Female Light Swimsuit
    UFFitMed_01: Fit Medium Female Swimsuit
    UFSknMed_01:
    UFFatMed_01:
    UFFitDrk_01:
    UFSknDrk_01:
    UFFatDrk_01:

    UMFitLgt_01:
    UMSknLgt_01: male swimsuits
    UMFatLgt_01:

    **   basic method for changing the children’s pajama’s, that you can also apply to the adult changes.

    1.)    open Windows Explorer

    2.)      drill down to** ..\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\Skins folder

    3.)      find the texture your child sim is wearing by double clicking on the
    .bmp files that contain the 'c ch uch Chd' letters (these are child
    textures).  By double clicking this should open up the .BMP file into a
    paint program, so you can view the texture (clothes).  Now all you have to
    is rename (match  the filename AFTER the underscore _ to  the children's
    pajama .bmp file)

    4.)    so this is another way to just click around and find the picture and
    write down the filename to discover what the pajamas should be named.

    Quick review Examples:
    Like the texture b002mcchdlgt_nerd.bmp wears the pajama's
    Pajamamfit_nerd.bmp
    just go into the skins folder and look thought the mcchd or fcchd outfits
    until you find the outfit your Sim child is currently wearing, use the last
    group of letters after the last underscore and rename the last group of
    letters after the underscore on the pajama texture/outfit to match.

    again

    B011FCChdlgt_soc01.bmp

    will wear the

    PajamaFlgt_soc01.bmp

    so you have to find the Maxis names for all those outfits you describe {you
    could just double click the child BMP's} and all the names for the pajama's
    you like - then start matching up /renaming the pajama's to match the
    outfit.

    for the adult meshes {skins} the texture files would look like this:

    default swimsuits: {3 for some reason or another}
    uffitlgt_01.bmp
    UFFitlgt_undies01.bmp
    UFFitlgt_lguard01.bmp

    ==============================

    Any Adult Sim wearing the MiniD9 texture will also wear the Pajama’s, Swimsuit, and nakeds texture if you match the description of the ‘outfit’ texture to these  bit maps.

    B008FAFitlgt_MiniD9.bmp   outfit
    PajamaFlgt_MiniD9.bmp       pajamas

     the second line of the .skn file  calls the texture b011ucchdlgt_soc01 (.bmp)

    so all we have to do is name the Hearts pajama’s to conform with the adult naming convention, hence:

    PajamaFlgt_soc01.bmp

    Hearts texture   texture applied to Elizabeth Elvira mesh   The Hatfield children
    example textures for Children's Pajamas

    1.)    open Windows Explorer

    B008FAFitlgt_MiniD9.bmp   outfit
    PajamaFlgt_MiniD9.bmp   pajamas
    UFFitlgt_MiniD9.bmp   swimsuit
    nffitlgt_minid9.bmp   nakeds part

    just follow the same pattern as the children's pajama's
    {after the underscore.}

     ======================================

    but for now those having problems getting the Sim children to wear your
    choice of Pajama's it is probably because these are the files that work for
    the childrens pajama's and these are what you should use for the children's
    pajama's:

    Custom Pajamas for adult sims and children sims:
    PajamaFLgt_customnamehere.bmp
    PajamaFMed_customnamehere.bmp
    PajamaFDrk_customnamehere.bmp
    PajamaMLgt_customnamehere.bmp
    PajamaMMed_customnamehere.bmp
